"How to Purchase an Aboriginal Hand Drum Kit"
"You’re about to Discover A Little Known, Sometimes Controversial, TRUTH About the Sacred Aboriginal Hand Drum Tradition – direct From an Aboriginal-So You Can Finally Make A Totally Informed Buying Decision "
Dear Friend,
If you’d like to Make your own Musical Instrument, Feel a sense of accomplishment and Enhance your self-esteem and pride, then this might be the most important letter you’ll ever read.
Here’s why:
Your drum kit is made with all natural materials. Materials are smudged and blessed when gathered. Made by an authentic Canadian Métis Indian.
Now, I know you’re probably skeptical. That’s normal and healthy. Let me give you three good reasons we can back up what we claim:
Three Reasons To Believe What I Say
Reason one: Kevin was taught at a very early age, how to stretch hides and make useable materials for drums, rattles and clothing. Over the last ten years, the healing powers of making and playing drums are becoming better known. Kevin has been asked by Schools, Individuals, Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal organizations to supply the materials and teachings for drum making since 1998.
Reason two: Métis Family Services in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada has been ordering 40 to 80 Drum kits per year since 2003, and promoting the sale of these Métis Drum kits to others.
Reason three: The Children’s Foundation in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada hired Kevin to come, and build 30 Native Drums with their Children, adding to a total of three hundred Native drum kits for the year 2006.

Now, you're probably wondering how and why we can do all those things.
Let me explain.
Dear Fellow Native Indian Drum Kit Seekers!
It all starts with the gathering of materials needed, Cedar for the drum ring, Animal hides to make the rawhide, for the drum head and lacing. When going to collect these materials, We do a number of ceremonies, making offerings of tobacco, sweet grass or sage, for those that give their life for us to have a sacred Native instrument.
We make our drums in a circle, as it represents the earth and life. Single-sided drums play better, because they are held from behind, that give them more stability.
Your drum ring is made with hand picked clear cedar (AS IT HAS THE BEST TONE), we make them modular (consisting of many interlocking pieces) gluing the pieces together, the joints have biscuits at every joint for strength. Once dried the rings are machine sanded inside and out, rounded on top and bottom of the three inch thickness, then a final hand sanding, and coated in a natural oil.
Making the Rawhide for the drum head and lacing, is a process of removing the hair from the hide, it’s a lengthy process, as continuous soaking of the hide is needed for five to fourteen days, the hide is then stretched on a wooden frame, made to size, the hide then dehaired and fleshed, using traditional tools (moose leg bone and a home made fleshing knife) then dried as rawhide.
We then cut the best pieces for the sizes of our drum head; each Native Indian drum becomes unique with color and sound. Depending on where the drum head is cut from the belly of the skin is thinner, than the shoulder of the animal were it is thicker. We then cut the smaller left over pieces into strips for lacing (to tie or sew the drum together) so there is no waste.
Don't take my word for it.
Listen to what our customers say.
Warning: Do NOT buy any 12, 14, or 16 inch Native Drum Kit
unless it meets the following 6 criteria
There is a lot of confusion surrounding our field. I want to give you 6 criteria or elements you absolutely, positively must have in any solution you obtain:
1: You must give thanks’ to those that made the greatest sacrifice, so you can have a Sacred North American Indian Hand Drum Kit. Done for you by Native Drum Kits
2: You must use water proof glue on the drum ring or the moisture from the wet rawhide will dissolve and crumble the drum ring while assembling, or weak-in it so it falls apart while drying.
3: The rawhide for the drum head must completely surround the drum ring or you wouldn’t get full sound from your Native Indian drum.
4: The rawhide for the drum head must completely surround the drum ring or the hide could split or crack.
5: The lacing for your Native Indian drum kit must be from the same rawhide, so it expands and contract’s the same.
6: Native Indian Drum’s must be round in shape as it’s un-natural to fold rawhide on corners.
You get at least 10 times your money's worth!
It has taken me years to convince my hunter friends to bring the hides out of the bush in hunting season, and cost me many a salmon. In Aboriginal life everyone grows up learning certain things, so everyone in the community knows who’s the fisherman, Hunter, or the Drum maker.
I have spent my whole life learning this art of drum making, to be able to share with you and allow you to assemble your own Sacred Native Indian hand drum, with expert instructions.
When I assemble these drum kits myself, I sell the drums for $300.00 for a small one’s $600.00 and up for the larger one’s.
I have been hired to personally teach classes of ten, twenty, and thirty people being paid thousands of dollars to supply the kits and teach the class in person, if you took the time spent to learn the art of drum making to producing each kit it contains $2,000.00 of my time and knowledge per kit.
Each Native Indian Drum Kit includes:
1. Clear Cedar Drum Ring.
2. One round rawhide drum head. ( holes pre done )
3. Two length’s of rawhide lacing.
4. One round rawhide centre ring.
5. One drum beater stick kit.
